We are delighted to introduce Jack J. Slim as part of the GPI Hospitality family, as he takes on the honored position of Vice President of Hotel Operations for GPI Hospitality.

Originally from Cuba, Jack’s work adventures in the last 20 years navigated him all over the world on board Cruise Ships and throughout Hotels in the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii, and now brings his extensive knowledge and experience in global hospitality operations to the GPI Hospitality family.

Most recently, Jack was the Managing Director at the iconic El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. Jack’s experience consists of pre-openings and managing multi-brands with several awards and achievements to the resort’s history of excellence and prominence.

Some of his awards include:  

• #1 Hotel in all of the Hawai’ian Islands with Travel + Leisure
• #48 Best Hotels of the World
• Recognitions by «World Best Awards» in the Hotel Industry
• Earning “Forbes” Stars Designation for several properties
• Achieving AAA four and five Diamonds designations with varying properties dynamics

His contributions in the hospitality industry have led to strong commercial success, profitability focus and elaborate operational experiences that have spearheaded much success in the hotels he has managed.

Jack is passionate about creating strong, performance driven teams, and developing them. His skills, knowledge, and passion for the hotel industry have always been focused on creating unique experiences and formidable service for guests and team members, while ensuring financial growth and stability for ownership and management.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack can fluently speak English and Spanish.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to new destinations looking to expand on his hospitality knowledge from a guest’s point of view. Jack’s cultural passions are Opera, Ballet, and the Performing Arts, while also enjoying classical music as well as a fine glass of wine while playing some Chess.
